The word occupied has kept the posts a bit sparse lately.

Also we added a new furry family member so WhatcomTom’s time has been greatly occupied. So hopefully time will be found for more posts but for now occupied is the word of the day.

A quick walk to the post office via the Barkley trail system and got to watch this beautiful hawk. I was definitely being watched right back and shortly after I started taking pictures he took off.
This three legged squirrel was quite a bit more cheeky and chirped and complained until I moved on down the trail.

Today started out with some heavy Winter like hail and wind. By lunchtime the sun had come out and Spring was back.

Railroad trail and down Barkley Blvd.
The fungus type plants are thriving on our damp weather.
There was bunches of tiny birds enjoying the berries but they were to hard to capture with the point and shoot camera. The berries, however, cooperated and stayed still for some pictures.
More fungus or a lichen? and of course the invasive ivy that grows everywhere.
Look closely at this picture. It was taken off of Barkley Blvd just as it starts leveling off. Can you tell what this is? If you guessed Treadmill you are correct. It is out in the middle of a field. Curious what the story was on it…New Years resolution gone bad? Oh the stories it could tell.
Even when it is cold and damp out there are still many sights to see.
The Killdeers are running around making their nests in gravel parking lots.
And there are twisted trees.
and trees that grew around fences.
The deer are munching lawns and rose bushes. Yup a good day for a walk.
